Port Isaac Parking

Car parking in Port Isaac is relatively scarce, with only two main car parks offering 239 parking bays. Street parking is not feasible because of the village’s small streets.

If you’re visiting during busy months and both car parks are full, you might have to consider parking at nearby Polzeath.

Polzeath is a 20-minute bus ride to Port Isaac, but buses only run every 1.5 hours from Polzeath and every two hours from Port Isaac. Considering their infrequency, you might check the time more than the sights around you.

Of course, you can always book a room at one of the Port Isaac hotels with parking. Or how about a relaxing stay at a Port Isaac holiday cottage with parking? Not only does this guarantee storage for your vehicle, but it also gives you a place to stay and relax once you’re done soaking up the village vibe.

Best Parking in Port Isaac

Looking for parking at Port Isaac is easy with only two car parks. Let’s examine each one.

New Road Car Park, PL29 3SB

The best parking in Port Isaac is New Road car park, PL29 3SB. It’s close to everything Port Isaac offers, giving an excellent glimpse of the waters beyond the cliff.

Because Cornwall Council owns this car park, blue badge holders registered with the council can park here for free. Otherwise, it costs 90p to park here for an hour or £5.50 for the entire day. Parking from 6 pm to 9 am is also free. If you’re visiting from November to March, Port Isaac parking for up to two hours is only £1.30 or £3 for the entire day.

Main Car Park, PL29 3TR

If New Road is full by the time you arrive, the Port Isaac Main car park will likely have space for you. This car park has 139 spaces, with five dedicated disabled parking bays. They also have 40 additional spaces to serve as overflow as needed. It’s a 10-minute walk away from everything in Port Isaac.

No weight or height restrictions exist, and any vehicles over five metres tall can park at the specified area within the car park. That means the Main car park is the only motorhome parking in Port Isaac.

Parking at the Main Car Park will cost you £4 for three hours or £10 for 24 hours. Cornwall Council does not own this car park, so blue badge holders won’t get any concessions here. St Endellion Parish Council manages this car park, so contact them if you have any questions or problems.

Free Parking in Port Isaac

Free parking in Port Isaac technically exists as long as you’re parking from 6 pm to 9 am the next day. Otherwise, you’ll have to pay New Road car park’s hourly tariff.

Besides the New Road car park, there is no parking in Port Isaac that won’t cost money, even just a few hours. The Main car park requires payment regardless of what time you enter the facility.

Disabled Parking in Port Isaac

Disabled parking in Port Isaac can be easy if you arrive at the village early. That’s because both Port Isaac car parks only have a few dedicated disabled parking bays. The Main car park on Trewatha Lane has five disabled bays, while the council-owned New Road car park doesn’t specify how many disabled parking spots it has. Knowing Port Isaac parking beforehand will save you the trouble of driving through Port Isaac’s narrow and winding streets.
